A 12-week (45 Minutes) camp geared for our 1st - 3rd graders who have MESSY handwriting! This course is an intensive approach utilizing occupational therapy-based interventions to: - Identify problem areas in the child's writing - Analyze intrinsic muscle strength/functioning via grasp and dexterity abilities - Strategically target identified problem areas in a methodical fashion to improve overall legibility - Offer recommendations on accommodations (e.g. adapted pencils, papers, slant boards, work spaces) to help set the child up for success. Every session beings with a sensorimotor obstacle course to assist with regulation and strengthening! WHO: Appropriate for Children (1st Grade to 3rd Grade) who are in school. - 2 Adults to 6 T.OTs per group. - Each group is run by a licensed/registered pediatric occupational therapist. WHAT: A hybrid of using the Handwriting Without Tears book and curriculum created by Ms. Jennell (@ot.umma) to target identified areas such as: - Problem Letters (e.g. Dive Letters, Magic C letters, "e," Diagonal Uppercase Letters) - Spacing in between letters within a word or in between words in a sentence. - Letter placement on wide-ruled or college-ruled paper WHEN: 1/27/23 to 4/28/23 (Friday) || 3:30-4:15 PM **NO SESSIONS: The weeks of President's Day and Easter off. WHERE: Tustin, CA WHY: To set each child up for success by re-establishing strong foundations as they blast off into their academic journey! Rate: $37.50 per 45 Minutes. WAYS TO SAVE: (1) Payment options may be available, (2) Early Bird Discount, and (3) Group Discount (e.g. sibling, friends). Inquire for more details. Mandatory $15 materials fee. (Waived if payment through Zelle or Venmo) IMPORTANT-- PLEASE READ: A mandatory 15 minute screener will be held prior to the start of the camp for $15. If the child is determined to be a good fit for the program, the money will be applied to the remaining cost of the program. If it is determined that this program may not be the right fit, and if no other programs available are appropriate at this time, then the $15 will be applied towards the individual consultation that will be provided after the screener for tips and strategies to work on at home.
