For our upper grade elementary students (3rd to 6th graders), let's dive into the world of critical writing! Students will read articles on the pros and cons of metal bats being used in youth baseball. Then, we will dive into how to write an argumentative essay with an: + Introductory Paragraph and a Thesis + One Body Paragraph with Support from the Articles + Conclusion Paragraph FOCUS: + Tackling problem letters that impact legibility + Sentence pragmatic lessons (e.g. casing, spacing, letter placement, punctuation) + Article analysis + Evidence Citation + Critical Writing + Peer Editing INFORMATION: + Date: July 7, 2025 - July 11, 2025 + Time: 9 AM - 12:30 PM + Cost: $395 + 2.9% Credit Card Transaction Fee + Mandatory Materials Cost: $30 (Paid in Venmo, cash, or check on first day of camp) + Early Drop Offs: 8:30 AM start ($50 per week) + Extended Pick Ups: 1:15 PM pick up ($30 per week) + Staff: 1 licensed/registered pediatric occupational therapist + 1 to 2 trained aide. + Children Eligible: 8 to 12.5 years old. (Rising 3rd Graders to 6th Graders) + Prerequisites: Child must show behavioral readiness, is able to follow multi-step instructions, and is independent with toileting self-help skills. + Mandatory zoom or facetime screener is enforced to ensure child meets the prerequisites.
