A 12-week, one time per week, intensive camp geared for our T.OTs (6 to 8.5 years old) who are ready to explore the next steps of their writing journey: Handwriting Remediation, Reading Comprehension, & Intro to Paragraph Writing!
This inclusive environment also focuses on emotional regulation, social participation, good sportsmanship, and frustration tolerance!

Lowergrade Elementary:
Ages: 6 to 8.5 years old
Prerequisites:

Enrolled in school / homeschooled

Must show behavioral readiness (e.g. able to follow multi-step directions).

Must know how to write uppercase and lowercase letters
Ratio: 1 Adult to 5 T.OTS per Group (Max: 13 Students)
Groups led by a pediatric occupational therapist.
Rate: $50 per hour/class after initial deposit.

This program strengthens academic fine motor and visual motor skills while building confidence in writing and reading.
Students will work on:

Handwriting remediation

Correcting sentence errors (casing, spacing, letter alignment, punctuation)

Reading comprehension (highlighting and using text for writing)

Intro to paragraph writing using information from text

Pencil grasp strategies for non-typical grips (as needed)

Social skills: teamwork and frustration tolerance
Lessons are engaging, supportive, and tailored to help each child succeed.

Cohort A: Wednesdays (3:15 -4:15 PM)

Cohort B (Hybrid): Thursdays (4:45-5:45 PM)

Cohort C (Hybrid): Saturday (9:30-10:30 AM)
Directions:
1. Register for camps & pay the $150 registration fee to hold the spot.
2. I will contact you to schedule our mandatory 30 minute screener ($60).

If the camps are not deemed appropriate at this time, $90 of the $150 deposit will be refunded. $60 will be kept to cover the screener.
3. An invoice with the payment plan option selected will be presented on the day of the screener.
4. There is a 2.9% service fee for payments made via cc.
Jennell Chang is a licensed/registered occupational therapist who is bringing OT based strategies to all. However, she is not operating as anyone's private OT unless otherwise determined by an assessment with her.
In emergent situations (e.g. natural disasters, Jennell falling ill/quarantined, etc), camps MAY be held via online or rescheduled if possible.
