A 4-week SPEECH & OT, parent & me camp geared for our young T.OTs (2 to 3 years old)!

Our number one goal is to EMPOWER you, parents, to elicit skills that can be incorporated into your child's everyday life.  

T.OTs in the shooting stars CAMP will learn how to...

DEVELOP GRASP SKILLS ON TOOLS

STRENGTHEN GROSS & FINE MOTOR MUSCLES

INTRODUCE LANGUAGE & INCREASE VOCABULARY

Dates: 5/3, 5/10, 5/17, 5/24

Child Age: 2-3 year olds​

Prerequisites:

  • An adult must be actively present with child at each class
     

2 License Therapists to 6 T.OTS per Group.

Groups led by a licensed & registered occupational therapist and speech and language pathologist.

This 4 week course:
 

  • Empower parents to facilitate appropriate language, social, fine motor, and gross motor skills within their everyday environment

  • Increase vocabulary and language to use with peers in a play-based setting

  • Improve attentional skills as well as the ability to follow one to two step directions

  • Learn appropriate play skills with peers

  • Facilitate fine motor skills development needed for tool use (e.g. holding a crayon, using scissors)

  • Embeds sensorimotor obstacle courses to improve gross motor skills, muscle strength, and whole body regulation

  • Introduce multi-step activities (e.g. crafts) to improve motor planning abilities
    ​

Every activity is taught with a focus on a multi-sensory approach to learning.

$60 per hour. 

$10 non-refundable materials cost.

10:30-10:45

morning circle

e.g. morning song, calendar check in, story time & dance

10:45-10:55

sensorimotor obstacle course + facilitated group play

e.g. gross motor, sensory regulation, and social participation 

10:55-11:25

split off into two groups

group a: pre-academic based fine motor skills with OT
group b: speech and language activity with the SLP

   ______switch groups after 15 minutes______

11:25-11:30

ending circle

e.g. closing song with instruments, parent q&a
